Dr Guy Gosselin is a highly experienced spinal specialist with over 40 years of clinical experience helping patients recover from back pain, neck pain and complex spinal conditions.
He leads the East Yorkshire Back Clinic with a strong focus on evidence-based treatment and personalised care designed to restore movement, reduce pain and improve long-term spinal health.
A Career Dedicated to Spinal Health
Dr Gosselin qualified from the internationally respected Palmer College of Chiropractic in the United States in 1981. He then established a successful multidisciplinary practice in Canada, where he combined clinical work with teaching and research in spinal biomechanics.
He later completed a PhD in Medical Engineering, focusing on how the spine functions and responds to injury and rehabilitation.
Throughout his career, Dr Gosselin has remained committed to combining scientific research with hands-on clinical experience to provide patients with modern, effective treatment approaches.
Academic and Research Experience
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Gosselin has held several teaching and research roles. He has lectured in biomechanics and clinical technique and has worked with research teams studying spinal injuries and rehabilitation.
His research into whiplash injuries and spinal function has been internationally recognised and supported by major research funding. He has also collaborated with Southampton University General Hospital as part of their Clinical Biomechanics Group.

• A Fellow of the European Academy of Chiropractic
He has also contributed to sports chiropractic research internationally and previously served as Chairperson of the College of Chiropractic Sports Science (Europe).

Away from clinical practice, Dr Gosselin enjoys staying active and maintaining a strong interest in sport and outdoor activities. He enjoys bikejoring with his dog Kita, mountaineering, rock climbing, polo, travelling, photography, salsa dancing and regular fitness training. He has also played drums in a blues band.
Earlier in his career, he qualified as an alpine and Nordic ski instructor, swimming instructor and Canadian Royal Life Saving Society lifeguard. He holds a black belt in karate and has competed internationally in both karate and long-distance canoe racing. He has also enjoyed hang gliding, gliding and kite surfing.
