Meet Dr Guy Gosselin

Dr Guy Gosselin PhD (Med Eng), DC, FEAC is one of the most highly qualified spinal health experts practising in the North of England. Holding a PhD in Medical Engineering and a Fellowship of the European Academy of Chiropractic, he brings specialist-level diagnostic and biomechanical expertise to every patient he sees at East Yorkshire Back Clinic — whether they are presenting for the first time or arriving after years of unsuccessful treatment elsewhere.

He brings over 40 years of clinical experience to patients across Hull, Beverley and the East Riding of Yorkshire, focusing on the assessment and care of back and neck pain, as well as complex spinal conditions, combining evidence-based practice with a genuinely personalised approach.

A career built on clinical excellence

Dr Gosselin qualified from the internationally respected Palmer College of Chiropractic in the United States in 1981. He went on to establish a successful multidisciplinary practice in Canada, and lectured at the Université du Québec. He was also an expert witness for the Québec Chiropractic licencing board.

Throughout his career he has lectured in biomechanics and clinical technique, conducted internationally recognised research into whiplash injuries, and collaborated with Southampton University General Hospital's Clinical Biomechanics Group.

Dr Gosselin believes that positive outcomes begin with understanding each patient as an individual. His approach is built around thorough clinical assessment, personalised care plans, and a focus on restoring movement and function for the long term — helping patients return to normal daily activities with confidence.

Outside the clinic

Dr Gosselin leads an active life away from practice. He enjoys bikejoring with his dog Kita, mountaineering, rock climbing, polo, salsa dancing and regular fitness training. A qualified alpine and Nordic ski instructor, he holds a black belt in karate and has competed internationally in both karate and long-distance canoe racing.
