Your first visit to East Yorkshire Back Clinic
Here's exactly what to expect, from booking to your first treatment.
What to expect
Before your appointment
Arrive 10 minutes early to complete a physical examination form, our data protection policy and informed consent documentation.
Initial consultation (30 minutes)
Dr Gosselin will invite you into the consulting room to discuss your complaint thoroughly, take a full case history and carry out a targeted physical exam to identify the underlying cause.
Diagnostic testing
Should your case require further investigation, we can either write to your GP or we can arrange private appointments with consultants or refer you for MR scans.
Treatment
If indicated and safe to proceed, straightforward cases may be treated on the first visit. Some patients are given preliminary 'homework', such as ice application or specific exercises, before treatment begins.
Follow-up visits
Subsequent visits follow a consistent format: a discussion of your condition and concerns, followed by treatment and a review of your plan.
